GDC IT Solutions is looking for a Network Infrastructure Architect in the Harrisburg, PA area.

To design and implement computer networks, which includes Internet connections, intranets, local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), wireless LANs, and data communications networks that function optimally; analyze existing and future networks to support the organization's operations and to monitor and organize any projects related to networks; design efficient network infrastructures to satisfy short-term as well as long-term IT2 of 5 requirements; and create detailed plans to integrate new systems' architectures into existing infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize detailed knowledge of the OSI model for network communication.
- Apply knowledge of link-layer, network-layer, and transport-layer protocols for efficient interoperability and communication.
- Create IP addressing schemes to support current design requirements and provide future growth.
- Manage path selection in BGP using prefix-lists and route-maps.
- Provide Quality of Service for sensitive network traffic.
- Create loop free layer 2 networks using Spanning Tree protocols including RSTP, RPVST+, and MSTP.
- Implement and manage traffic limiting features such as traffic policing using class-maps and access-lists.
- Perform/analyze packet captures; use industry standard tools (Wireshark) to determine causes of network anomalies.
- Configure network infrastructure devices such as routers, switches, wireless access-points and controllers, firewalls, and other security appliances from various vendors including Cisco, HP/Aruba/ Fortinet, and Meraki.
- Provide, support and manage VPN services for remote access and site to site.
- Utilize excellent understanding of protocols such as ARP, DHCP, DNS, TCP, UDP, IGMP, multicast routing, PIM sparse-mode, PIM dense-mode while configuring and maintaining on-prem and district networks.
- Compare and purchase network hardware, such as routers, switches, modems and firewalls.
- Research and implement network software, such as network drivers and monitoring applications.
- Make use of excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills to interact with members of various departments.
- Work with the Network Systems Engineers to implement and troubleshoot systems for the on-prem and supported districts.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding the information being processed, stored, or accessed on the network.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending relevant conferences, trainings, webinars and reviewing publications.
- Provide training to local end users and member district technical staff as needed.
- Participate in meetings as required, offering insight and direction regarding the use of technology as it relates to the goals of the company and its member districts.
- Assume any other responsibilities as assigned by the Technology Infrastructure Supervisor or his/her designee.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Networking certification required.
- Minimum of five years of experience in a technology related field required.
- Professional-level IT related certification required.
- Experience with Windows server environments required.
- VMWare management experience required.
- Storage Area Network management experience required.
- Firewalling experience required (Fortinet and Cisco firewalls preferred).
- Route/Switch experience required (Cisco and Aruba preferred).
- Excellent technical and troubleshooting skills required.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills required.
- Excellent multitasking and self-management skills required.
Preferred Experience:
Preferred Experience:
- Experienced with Linux server environments preferred.
- Enterprise wireless network experience preferred (Cisco, Aruba, and Meraki preferred).
- Microsoft Exchange and Office 365 cloud services experience preferred.
- Enterprise VOIP experience preferred (Cisco and Fortinet preferred).
- Excellent interior/exterior gateway routing protocol knowledge including OSPF, EIGRP and BGP preferred.
