Requirements
- Five years experience integrating enterprise networks in DOD facilities
- BICSI certification in relevant field
- Proficient in Outside/Inside Plant cable design, install and maintenance
Desired Skills
- Extensive knowledge of copper and fiber optic cabling to include installation, termination, and maintenance of RG-59, Single-Mode Fiber (SMF), Multi-Mode Fiber (MMF) and Shield Twisted Pair (STP)
- Working knowledge of Cisco IOS and affiliated hardware
- BICSI Installer Certifications
Description
The Field Service Engineer will manage, troubleshoot, and correct incidents and problems associated with customer site equipment, including
- Provides support, as required to install, activate, and/or transition networking equipment such as network switches, routers, and encryption devices
- Assists engineering staff members in design, fabrication, integration and testing of electronic circuits, cables, and mounting equipment in support of field upgrades and installations
- Performs on-site installation, troubleshooting, and testing of company products and equipment
- Provides technical support to customers and deployed teams on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment
- Develops SOVT test procedures, test plans, test reports, and procedures to maintain lab facilities and calibrate test equipment as needed, supports engineering tests and detailed experimental testing
- Conducts Site Survey's and support the development of installation packages as needed in support of infrastructure upgrade efforts
- Installs, programs and troubleshoots Type 1 Bulk encryptors such as KG-175G's, Deltas and Alphas, Raytheon KG-345/350's
- Has a valid Passport and willing to do short duration travel for up to 50% of the entire year (nonconsecutive)
