Overview
Soft Tech Consulting is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual to fill the role of an Network Lead. The selected individual will join a collaborative team environment where they will provide expertise and guidance to the project team/management. The Network Lead.plays a key role in client relations. Key to the success of this position is the successful delivery of the project and effective communication to all levels of staff for reporting project status.

Responsibilities
- Provide support in the installation, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of agency wide-area networks (WANs) and local-area networks (LANs).
- Assist in the design and management of the WAN infrastructure and any processes related to the WAN.
- Provide Production Support of the Network, including: day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution client Networks.
- Provide second level problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
- Oversee the operations and maintenance of the client’s critical network environment that supports connectivity for the client's IT systems.
- Provide services necessary for the management and fulfilment of networking functions to include network segment provisioning and IP address allocation, as well as the managing of existing specialized network segments, Network Access Control (NAC), and Ipv6 rollout.
- Provide services necessary for the operation, administration, maintenance, and provisioning of networked systems.
- Provide services necessary for the maintenance and control of the network, including tracking network resources and how they are assigned.
- Provide limited touch labor support from the cellular wireless providers’ demarcation to the client antennae found throughout the client site (e.g., replace power supply or equipment, test fiber uplinks, replace fiber patch cables).
- Provide limited touch labor support for physical installation and setup for wireless equipment, and provide support and assistance with configuration.
- Provide support for UC and VTC services.
- Provide support/oversight for network performance and troubleshooting, network operational services, network monitoring and troubleshooting, and network services for the client CAN and WAN.
Qualifications
B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology Management or Engineering or related or four years of related experience may be substituted for the education degree requirement.
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting the installation, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of agency wide-area networks (WANs) and local-area networks (LANs).
- Experience assisting in the design and management of the WAN infrastructure and any processes related to the WAN.
- Experience providing Production Support of the Network, including: day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution client networks.
- Experience supporting the dispatch of circuit and hardware vendors involved in the resolution process. Supports the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
- Knowledge in various software systems and architectures, communications protocols: and network hardware devices.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Able to work independently.
