Global Technology Solutions (GTS). GTS make efforts to digitally transform RTI. This person will monitor, troubleshoot and maintain the integrity of RTI’s Operations Network Infrastructure (LAN, WAN, Wireless, and Telephony) campus equipment, routers, switches and utilize remote monitoring tools. The duties of this position can be broad and include one off task such as installation of new devices, conducting add, moves and daily review of the Service Now ticket queues. Audit individuals from access list, archiving files, overseeing password protection and other security measures, monitoring equipment lifecycle and manage malfunctioning equipment.
Responsibilities:• Assist with the planning and design process of new network internet connectivity through the identification of technical requirements and continue until implementation.
• Oversee new and existing network equipment and troubleshoot computer networks.
• Identify alerts through monitoring tools and react to fault exposures per service level restoration timelines.
• Maintain LAN/WAN/Wireless/Telephony operations by working with network facility and hardware/software vendors to ensure timely problem resolution.
• Maintain and utilize network monitoring platforms to ensure the provision of data and identify/resolve security risk vulnerabilities.
• Monitor the operation of telecom network systems and proactively resolve network performance issues.
• Collect initial set of business requirements from Stakeholders to help define the scope of the project.
• Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.
• Assist in validating the technical specifications necessary to help determine vendor product price quotes.
• Participate in Charter development for stakeholders and management.
• Research KB articles, historical Service Now tickets, perform technical analysis, coordinate site dispatches in response to break fix issues.
• Assist in the selection of best products that meet business needs and proper selection criteria. Recommend solutions and leverage available products to stakeholders and management.
• Work with project management, vendors, stakeholders, and management to complete specific projects.
• Managed time utilization to ensure that tasks are complete on or ahead of schedule, or that elevated impacts are escalated to project or GTS management.
• Install and configure hardware or software in accordance with manufacturers technical specifications and recommendations.
• Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
• Work with Security Operations to remediate security risks.
Job Requirements are a combination of qualifications and related experience.
• Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of Network experience or
• Master’s degree and 1 year Network experience or
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Cisco or equivalent certification (preferred)
• Proven experience with Ethernet (copper / fiber), IEEE cabling standards, TCP/IP, VLANs, ELANs, OSPF and BGP.
• Working knowledge of Cisco Wireless (Meraki and WLC) predictive site survey, deployment, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Working knowledge of Cisco 9000 series Cat Switches, routers, and Meraki wireless devices
• Excellent knowledge of Telecommunication vendor services including circuits, DIDs, PRIs, long distance, 800#s.
• Excellent knowledge of ethernet, CAT 5, single and multi-mode fiber, IEEE cabling standards, TCP/IP, VLANs, ELANs and OSPF
• Working knowledge of Zoom Telephony and Conferencing
• Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft 365 Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook).

• Basic working knowledge of Cisco IP Contact Center (IPCC)
• Working knowledge or basic experience maintaining firewalls in an enterprise environment (Palo Alto, F5 & Juniper preferred)
• Intermediate-level experience with AZURE or AWS networking.
• Ability to obtain up to Secret personal security clearances.
• Understanding of ITIL processes
• Applied knowledge of or skills in installation, configuration, and implementation of data center and telecommunication services.
• General knowledge of or skills in project coordination. May also participate in projects as a team resource.
• General knowledge of or skills in interfacing with end users, vendors, and technical staff on plan-design-develop initiatives.
• Basic knowledge of planning, design and development of overall LAN/WAN architecture, network standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
