Network Optimization EngineerPosition Overview
Shaw Industries is looking for aNetworkOptimizationEngineer. The positionwillbe responsible forleveragingexisting and new software tools to optimize Shaw's Global Logistics Network. This role will involve working with various systems, including Network Modeling Software, Transportation Management System (TMS), Warehouse Management System (WMS), Yard Management System (YMS), and Labor Management System (LMS). The primary focus will be on creating andmaintainingnetwork models, running scenarios, interpreting results, and driving improvement initiatives across Global Logistics.
Responsibilitiesinclude:
Network Optimization:
Create andmaintainmodels in network modeling software.
Investigate opportunities to optimize the network for speed, cost, and flexibility.
Run "What If" scenarios in the models and interpret the results.
Communicate findings and recommendations to leadership.
Maximizing Management Systems:
Explore ways to fullyleverageandmaximize existing management systems such as TMS, WMS, YMS, LMS, etc.
Improve andmaintaindataaccuracy within these systems.
Challenge existing processes and drive service improvement and cost savings.
Establish newstandard processes and track improvements.
Project Management:
Work on multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Adapt to shifting priorities anddemonstratetheability to pick up new systems and processes quickly.
Drive improvement initiatives across Global Logistics.
Data Analysis and Communication:
Utilize dataanalytics to analyze complex data and make recommendations and decisions based on results.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the company.
Demonstrate understanding of financial performance metrics and tools.
Teamwork and Collaboration:
Work in a team environment to maximize company resources.
Demonstrate goodorganizational and time-management skills.
Set challenging goals and work diligently to achieve them.
Promote change as necessary in a continually improving organization.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in related field
Experience with data analytics and modeling software.
Ability to work on multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Strong communicationskills, both verbal and written.
Proficiencyin Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Windows.
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and make recommendations.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Willingness to travel approximately 10%-15% of the time.
