This role is a part of the Data Center Network Product organization which owns the entire life-cycle of design, development, testing, deployment and operations of Meta's data-center network product.The scale of the network and its continuous expansion presents an opportunity to work on and solve interesting engineering challenges in the datacenter network domain. We constantly push the boundaries of what is possible. We create new and innovative ways of designing and operating our global datacenter networks and do it at scale with efficiency.Simple, elegant, and scalable network design, automation, and data analytics are the keys to meeting our demands. In this role, you will be part of a team that is responsible for conceiving design solutions, developing, testing and deploying network software, systems, and tools that keep the Data Center network operating at maximum reliability, scalability, and efficiency.Engineers in this role are hybrid software and network engineers who are able to leverage their network engineering skills to research and design new generation of network architectures and related systems and use their software development skills to reliably introduce them at scale in production.

Network Production Engineer Responsibilities:
- Research, architect, develop and deploy scalable datacenter network architectures and related tooling.
- Work closely with our hardware, software and sourcing teams, and external vendors to develop new optical solutions and influence the future of networking and its associated infrastructure.
- Partner with our software teams to develop the tooling required to provision, manage, monitor and troubleshoot our networks.
- Develop automated network monitoring systems to mitigate and remediate network events.
- Analyze data to diagnose and identify root causes to network issues.
- Test new network products including both HW and SW and pilot them in production DC networks before a mass rollout.
- Develop test automation frameworks integrated in CI/CD pipeline to qualify network software before push in production.
- Develop tests that qualify complex network migration procedures in lab/emulation before executing the same in production.
- Participate in DC network on-call rotation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
- 2+ years of experience in TCP, IP[v4|v6], BGP and related protocols.
- Understanding of network hardware platforms and their specifications in the datacenter space.
- 2+ years of programming experience in at least one language such as Python/C++/Go or other languages.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of optical ethernet technologies and their evolution.
- Experience working in a cross-functional domain with high collaboration demands.
- Experience working in a multi-vendor network environment.
- Automated Testing of network devices or network software for production networks or pre-production networks.
- Knowledge in network configurations and network performance tuning.
- Developing and understanding network device configuration for at least one vendor: Juniper, Cisco, Arista, or Brocade.
- Understanding of Network hardware and topology failures.
