Network Security Engineer - TEKsystems

Our client is looking to direct hire a Network Security Admin II/III for a hybrid opportunity in Appleton, WI. Candidate must be able to work onsite 3 times per week in Appleton. They are not open to looking at fully remote candidates. This role is a mix of operational and engineering tasks with this person being a Sr. member on the team. They are looking for some with at least a few years of experience working with NexGen Firewalls (Cisco FTD or similar), Cisco ISE, and Umbrella experience. Secure Internet Gateway experience would be a nice to have since they are going to be implementing this in their environment soon. This role would be involved in strategic execution of network security project at stores, distribution centers, and corporate environments. They are looking for someone that is open to learning new technologies and also being cross-trained on other areas of security that might need coverage as a secondary skill. We are looking for someone very motivated and self-starting.

Job Description:

The candidate must be able to perform the following duties and responsibilities:

· Provide IT Security support with ongoing business or IT projects resulting in secure network and application ecosystem for the store and corporate business users.

· Proactively monitor the IT Security systems for optimal performance, as well lead or assist in resolution of discovered opportunities.

· Assist team working through IT Security assigned trouble tickets.

· Perform day-to-day IT Security tasks such as:

a. NGFW administration as well contribute to the ongoing advancement of those systems.

b. Administration of our Cisco Network Admission Control (NAC) as well contribute to the ongoing advancement of that system.

c. Administration of Cisco Umbrella and SIG as well contribute to ongoing advancement of these systems.

· Assist with reporting of IT Security vulnerabilities to respective fix agents within the company.

· Analyze security scan results, determine action items to reduce IT security risks to the business.

· Perform other IT Security related tasks as assigned by the IT Leadership Team.

· Maintain a clear understanding of our client's goals and practice proper policies and procedures.

· Contribute to ongoing improvements on existing IT Security policies, procedures and standards.

· Must have prior IT Security experience

· Has passion for ongoing learning, is inquisitive and driven to understand.

· Must demonstrate effective communication techniques

· Flexibility of working via hybrid position is also available with discussion. Our client's business requirements now state all new hired employees be on-prem a minimum of three days per week.

This is not a “novice or beginner role”. We will be looking at applicants that have an Infrastructure Security or Cyber Security background from prior working roles. Applicants must be able to demonstrate success in prior IT Security related projects.
