Position Overview: Dhara Consulting is seeking a skilled and dedicated Network Specialist to join our team in Warner Robins, GA. As a Network Specialist, you will play a vital role in designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure that ensures seamless communication and connectivity across various systems and locations. Your expertise will contribute to the development of robust and secure networks, enabling the efficient operation of our clients' critical systems. US citizenship and SECRET security clearance required.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze system requirements and collaborate with cybersecurity personnel to determine optimal solutions for tech refreshing site enclaves.
- Design copper & fiber networks, including LANs and WANs.
- Maintain up-to-date network drawings (physical boundaries and logical data flow diagrams) via Microsoft Visio.
- Design, configure, and implement network solutions that meet the specific requirements of clients' projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather network requirements, understand business needs, and provide technical recommendations.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot network hardware, software, and components, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to ensure efficient data transmission and low latency.
- Ensure network security by implementing best practices, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
- Perform regular network assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and areas for improvement.
- Provide technical support for network-related issues, diagnosing and resolving connectivity problems promptly.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers to procure and manage network equipment and services.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to networking and cybersecurity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Current CompTIA Security+ CE certification and current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) required.
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a Network Specialist, Network Engineer, or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, VLAN, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Familiarity with network security practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access control lists.
- Proficiency in network troubleshooting and performance optimization.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently to resolve complex network issues.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate network documentation.
- US citizenship and SECRET security clearance required.
- Experience with processing Security Impact Assessments (SIAs) to modify network assets; knowledge of NIST Special Publication 800-53 and experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes; basic knowledge of Tenable Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) to scan network assets (i.e., network switches, router, firewalls, VoIP & VTC endpoints); and Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Enterprise certification preferred.
Implementation and Management Qualifications:
- Strong network routing and switching experience.
- Deploying and maintaining IT network infrastructure for organizations in geographically separated locations.
- Setting up and managing networks, ensuring data flow, and optimizing server bandwidth.
- Troubleshooting errors at client locations.
- Familiarity with Network Management System (SolarWinds) and integrating SNMP, NetFlow, Syslog, Network Maps, Audit Tracking, and automation.
- Knowledge of managing network encryption devices (TACLANES)
- Knowledge of handling COMSEC materials and loading to network encryption devices.
- Knowledge of managing Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM) clustered deployments with VoIP & Video Teleconferencing equipment (VTC).
- Knowledge in applying quality of service (QOS) based on a site's needs.
- Experience with life cycle management and managing smart license accounts for Cisco products.
Network Security Qualifications:
- Experience implementing DISA STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides) for Cisco Switches, Routers, & Call Managers.
- Knowledge of 802.1x authentication best practices & implementation (Cisco Identity Service Engine ISE).
- Implementing and managing next generation firewall rules & access lists.
- Experience in implementing network switch-based access control list.
- Experience managing copper and fiber networks while maintaining TEMPEST requirements.
