Position: Network Systems Engineer (6-month contract)
Location: Onsite/Hybrid in Scottsdale, AZ
Pay: Up to $69.00 per hour
Clearance Requirement: A DoD issued Active Secret security clearance is preferred at the time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed in the facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

GeoLogics is seeking a talented Network Systems Engineer to work with one of our aerospace and defense partners in Scottsdale, AZ.
Job Overview and Responsibilities:
- Performs communication network requirements analysis, IP network system design, and troubleshooting
- Develops network solutions to meet customer expectations and technical performance while staying within schedule and cost constraints
- Performs functional analysis, performance analysis, detailed trade studies
- Supports system integration and test (verification), validation and interface definition studies of the system
- Develops and evaluates systems, networks, and information systems to ensure designs meet applicable governmental security specifications
- May provide system accreditation/certification evaluation and test support to ensure all technical security features (e.g., identification, authentication, access control, labeling, and auditing) of the system are considered and function properly
- Participates in Modeling and Simulation activities
- Researches and analyzes data, such as vendor products, COTS components, GFE/CFE, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
- Provides leadership and/or direction to lower level employees
- Provides engineering support to proposals
- Guides the development and test teams on successful completion of network design implementation and verification
- Is creative and innovative. requiring advanced decision-making skills
- Recommends methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead)
- Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- The ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance (Active Secret preferred)
- B.S. degree and minimum of 5 years of related experience (or 3 years with a master's)
- Requirements include:
- Working understanding of basic project leadership principles including SPI/CPI, Earned Value, Cost Account Management (CAM), and Statistical Process Controls
- Excellent knowledge of current state-of-the art IP Networking techniques and technologies; able to apply these to solve new customer problems
- Excellent use and understanding of systems engineering and development lifecycle concepts and principles
- Excellent knowledge of other related communication network disciplines
- Proficiency with requirements management & network system modeling tools
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills; effective in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions
