Job Summary: The Network Supervisor will report directly to the Site Manager. This position is located at Thule AFB, Greenland.
The Network Supervisor manages and directs the activities of the data and voice networks at Thule Air Base, Greenland (TAB). The major emphasis is to ensure contractor-controlled availability rates meet or exceed Performance Work Statement (PWS) requirements, site reporting is accomplished flawlessly, and critical system failures are rapidly and accurately reported and resolved. The Networks Supervisor also ensures compliance with all PWS directives and Quality Management objectives. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned to meet the changing needs of contract performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises all technicians in the execution of the operation and maintenance of the NIPRNET, SIPRNET and Defense Switched Network (DSN).
- Interfaces with government agencies and government contractors to accomplish mission essential contracts.
- Is responsible to review hardware/software modification proposals and the testing requirements to implement those modifications. Is required to fully ensure new modifications are tested to ensure that system degradations do not occur. Responsible for the configuration management of system hardware and software.
- Reviews and provides inputs to change or enhance procedures and Operating Instructions (OIs). Implements Company and government policies and procedures. Updates operating instructions to account for new procedures or policies.
- Attends meetings that provide the local command elements with relevant details of system availability, equipment malfunctions, logistical, funding and safety issues.
- Coordinates with other agencies and Thule Plans and Programs office concerning equipment installations. Monitors facility maintenance and upgrades.
- Reviews and submits shift schedules for approval.
- Manages and directs work center activities in support of all operational requirements.
- Expected to be thoroughly versed with Department of Defense Cybersecurity policies and procedures and the implementation of same.
- Will have full responsibility over the operation and maintenance of all aspects of the NIPRNET, SIPRNET, and the Defense Switched Network (DSN) as applied to Thule Air Base. Will maintain appropriate levels of training and certifications for these networks, as applicable.
- Promotes employee continual education and sustainment through the use of the Performance Development Review (PDR) process.
- Responsible for the training of new personnel in a timely matter, and recurring training as needed. Updates training records and ensures training programs are up to date with the installation or removal of equipment.
- Creates and submits appropriate reports as needed. Requests Authorized Service Interruption’s (ASI’s) as needed to perform maintenance.
- Works with telecommunications users, Network Operation System Centers (NOSC) and other facilities in the timely troubleshooting and restoration of communications.
- Executes the proper actions for incoming and outgoing classified documents and equipment. Ensures the proper documentation and packaging of these items.
- Able to perform the duties of LAN and Telecommunications technicians as required.
- Acts as the Records Custodian (RC) for the office, oversees the office filing system to insure completeness and correct filling of items using the AFRIMS program IAW Air Force Policies.
- Performs additional and other duties as required.
Educational/Training Requirements:
- High school diploma and completion of civilian or military technical training or the equivalent. Preference is given for a degree in communications or computers along with military leadership and management experience to include military leadership schools.
- COMPTIA Security + certification required.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbally.
Supervision:
- Works under the general supervision of the Site Manager.
Work Environment:
- Expected to be able to lift to 100-pound loads with assistance on occasion in a normal working office environment and may work extended hours on weekends and holidays. Travel throughout the Thule Defense area is routinely required. Rotation schedule will be 9 weeks on and 4 weeks off with possibility of adjustment. A 72-hour work week will be the norm.

Clearance Requirements:
- Currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain the proper US DoD issued security clearance, which requires US Citizenship. Security clearance eligibility may be discussed during the interview phase.
- Employment and start date is contingent upon the candidate receiving the required US DoD issued interim security clearance.
