Job Summary
Responsible for performing routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures under the direction of a physician including; extra-cranial and intra-cranial angiography, as well as all body angiography with possible vascular interventions. Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills
• Provides technical support and assists with IR procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician and/or radiologist on patients of all ages according to established protocols.
• Provides technical support and assists with neurointerventional procedures in conjunction with the neuro-interventionalist
• Operates required imaging equipment using established guidelines and imaging protocols
• Ensures proper safety standards are met
• Instructs students and residents and performs preceptor duties when necessary
• Assists in maintaining supply inventory
• Demonstrates working knowledge of RIS and EMR systems
Essential Functions
• Obtaining clinical history and data for correlation with the procedure
• Prepare and administer contrast media to the patient according to policy
• Practice sterile technique
• Assist Radiologist and Neuro-Interventionalist with procedures
• Thoroughly educate patients about procedure
• Ensure that all records and reports are documented and recorded as required.
• Ensure that all pertinent charging as been entered into EMR
• Follow radiation safety policies and procedur
Job Requirements
Education
• Associates Degree in Radiography
Work Experience
• 3 years minimum as Angiography Technologist or Radiographer
• 1-year relevant experience preferred
Licenses, Certifications and Registrations.
• Registered Radiologic Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R.T) REQUIRED.
• ARRT V.I preferred but not required
• Ohio Radiographer License REQUIRED
• BLS is REQUIRED
