Associate Program Director
Neurology Residency Program
TidalHealth located in Salisbury, MD, is seeking an American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry Board-Certified Neurology Physician, to become the Associate Program Director for our brand-new Neurology Residency Program. This role is responsible for assisting the Program Director with the leadership, organization, operation, and general administration of the Neurology Residency Program sponsored by TidalHealth. The Associate Program Director helps ensure the established strategic direction of the program, the standards, quality, and reputation of the Neurology Residency Program are followed by the faculty and residents. There will be a required commitment of 90% Clinical Services and 10% Administrative Services.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Program Director in directing the new Neurology Residency Program at TidalHealth.
- Assist the Program Director with overseeing education and clinical care in all program-related patient care areas, the organization of rotations and other educational activities at all clinical sites that participate in the program.
- Assist the Program Director with recruitment, interviews, and selection of the residents.
- Maintain current knowledge of and compliance with ACGME Institutional, Common Program, and Program-Specific Requirements and teach residents.
- Assist in enforcing the fair policies, grievance procedures, and due process, as established by the GMEC, and in compliance with the ACGME Institutional Requirements.
- Prepare for and participate in the on-site program and institutional reviews.
- Must maintain ongoing clinical activity in Neurology, consistent with ACGME guidelines.
- Assist in teaching residents as directed through clinical and didactic work.
- Serve as a member of the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC.)
- Participate in GMEC subcommittees and task forces (including program representation at all GMEC meetings.)
- Participate in Internal Review panels as requested.
Position Requirements:
- Medical Physician (MD or DO degree.)
- Clinically practicing physician with current board certification in American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry Board-Certified Neurology Physician.
- Must have current Maryland (MD) state licensure, MD CDS, and Federal DEA.
- Eligible for unrestricted Active Medical Staff Privileges.
Experience:
- A history of ongoing academic achievements in Neurology (scholarly activity), including publications, the development of educational programs, or the conduct of research, consistent with ACGME guidelines.
- Knowledge and understanding of the requirements for enduring accreditation as an ACGME-accredited program in Neurology.
- Ability to administer, plan, direct, coordinate and supervise a residency training program.
- Experience in Graduate Medical Education (GME) policies and procedures, operations, culture, outcomes, and finances preferred.
- Previous experience in GME accreditation, curriculum development, and faculty/staff development preferred.
- Team-oriented, action-focused, hands-on, strategically minded, experienced physician or equivalent skilled educational leader.
- Preferred proficiency with MS Office Suite and other programs such as MedHub, WebAds, NRMP and ERAS platforms.
- Adept with virtual conferencing platforms (WebEx) and use.
- Knowledge of medical education policies and procedures preferred.
- Experience in an education or training environment preferred.
