POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides on-site, on-call pastoral care services to patients and their families as well as staff members, assuring support and care through crisis, code, trauma, or death. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as Health System initiatives.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Several years in pastoral ministry with substantial experience in a hospital setting and good standing as a member of, and endorsement from, a faith community. At least one unit of hospital-based Clinical Pastoral Education or its equivalent preferred. Ordination and seminary training also preferred.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Must demonstrate experience and competency in providing highly professional spiritual care in a variety of stressful situations, working skillfully with a diverse population of patients, guests, and staff. Must demonstrate keen sensitivity for assessing spiritual and emotional needs with a respectful awareness of differing cultural traditions, responding with appropriate intervention.
