About the Job
All non-commissioned unarmed security guards must meet the following requirements:
i. Must be over 21 years of age.
ii. High school graduate or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
iii. Possess a valid State of Texas driver’s license.
iv. Lawful residency of the United States and have the appropriate work authorizations.
v. Must have a valid security guard license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety
(Private Security Bureau).
vi. Successfully completed the State of Texas approved Level II Training Course and Test.
vii. Trained and licensed security guard with at least one (1) year professional experience as a
security guard, or one (1) year experience in a branch of law enforcement or other type of
protective service.
viii. Physically and mentally able to perform duties according to the scope of work.
ix. Pass a criminal background check, employment check, drug test, and alcohol test.
x. Not have been arrested or currently charged with, or under indictment for, a felony, Class
A misdemeanor, or a Class B misdemeanor.
xi. Not have been found by a court to be incompetent by reason of a mental defect or disease
and not have been restored to competency.
