We are looking for a Nondestructive (NDE) Examination Engineer - to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location.
Your Responsibilities:
Curtiss-Wright EMD is searching for Nondestructive Examination Engineers to support its Quality Team in the design and manufacture of EMD’s highly engineered products. Since 1952 Curtiss Wright EMD has been integral to the US Navy’s nuclear propulsion program. You will play an important role by helping to implement the quality assurance program to support design, and manufacture ensuring product standards.
Due to the nature of the position some travel is expected at approximately 10%

Your Challenge:
+ Drive the planning, implementation, and maintenance of Non-destructive examination procedures and testing, to facilitate and oversee the quality program regarding Non-destructive examination scope
+ Perform the translation of customer or regulatory requirements into organizational instructions
+ Perform and maintain internal employee certification and qualification reports for Operations and Inspection personnel
+ Provide on-the-job and classroom NDE training for Operations, Inspection, and engineering personnel
+ Perform routine NDE oversight, guidance and reinspection
+ Participate and review internal control processes such as:
+ Certified Material Test Report reviews
+ Procedure reviews
+ Requirements flow down
+ Quality inspection plans.
+ Lead in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions as needed
+ Lead in the translation of customer or regulatory requirements into organizational instructions
+ Identify and resolve potential project or supplier quality issues
+ Participate in external, internal, process and supplier audits
What you Bring:
+ BS in Engineering or related technical or science degree
+ A minimum certification of ASNT SNT-TC-1A Level II or NAVSEA-250-1500-1 Inspector in NDE methods of MT, PT, RT, UT and/or VT
+ Must be willing to obtain Level III/Examiner certification in each NDE discipline, if not already obtained
+ Must be sole US Sole Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance
+ Organizational, verbal and written skills
+ Self-starter, capable of working independently to drive actions to completion.
+ Ability to work in multiple team environments while providing technical input
+ 5 plus years of experience in a manufacturing environment
+ BS in Materials Engineering preferred
+ Working knowledge of ASME B&PV Code, NAVSEA-250-1500-1 and/or Tech Pub 271/278
+ Holds Industrial Radiography Radiation Safety Personnel (IRRSP) combo certification
+ Past experience with training employees in a manufacturing setting
