JOB SUMMARY
The Group Fitness Leader is an integral member of the NOW center wellness team. Directly responsible for leading and delivering group fitness instruction ranging in variety and level from aerobic activity, muscular strength, stretch, spin, yoga or mind body disciplines. Ability to develop, organize choreograph, movement sequencing, cueing participants, safety, and execution with minimal supervision.
Ensure excellent customer service to all guest of the NOW center. Responsible for developing and implementing, specific fitness classes to a diverse population. Provide expert guidance to allow for a safe and desired client-centered workout.
Strives for superior performance of the NOW center by consistently providing excellent customer service to clients and staff that is recognized as ultimately contributing to the wellness experience. Recognizes and demonstrates understanding of community centered care.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Assess, plan and execute fitness classes for a variety of fitness level clients.Lead an energizing, fun, safe and motivating group class. Effectively builds authentic relationships with members and helps them connect to other services within the wellness facility.Keeps accurate class attendance with wellness system software. Maintain the Group Fitness equipment and room.Participates in master classes, in-house trainings, supports various wellness initiatives. In conjunction with the Wellness Team, develop and effectively present wellness education across a variety of platforms for health fairs, lunch and learns, and media events. Create a welcoming class environment for all members, regardless of fitness level. Provide guidance to customer service front desk staff as needed.Participate in monthly staff meetings and staffing schedules. Reporting of sales trends, client wellness data and community areas of interest to NOW center leadership team. Drive client sales with knowledge of center and areas of opportunities.Provide tour of facility and services to new/ potential members/ community groups.Communicate and coordinate with internal departments.Demonstrates knowledge of and supports hospital mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality statements, corporate compliance plan, customer service standards, and the code of ethical behavior.DEPARTMENTAL AND ADDITIONAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION
Must have or willing to obtain a current Group Fitness certification.Must maintain active fitness certifications; such as ACE, AFAA, Les Mills, Spinning, YogaFit, etc.Certification in CPR/AED/ First Aid with the AHA only. Must be obtained within 30 days of hiring. Strong willingness to seek and obtain additional training or certifications to enhance skill set and instruction. EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of customer service principles and practices. Extensive knowledge of exercise physiology and kinesiology, safe training practices, and exercise program implementation.Preferred experience in group wellness instruction. Knowledge of relevant computer applications and data tracking software.ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL ABILITIES/MOTOR SKILLS
Able to travel independently throughout all Memorial Healthcare facilities.Small motor skills required for operating modern computer, office, and telephone equipment as utilized by Memorial Healthcare (MHC).Excellent communication and organizational skills.Ability to multi-task and independently direct time management Able to provide walking tours of Wellness Center daily. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to be flexible in work environments- such as front desk and wellness floor. Willingness to work early mornings, nights and rotating weekends.
