The Nurse Educator Cardiac will work for a top-ranked health system that provides exceptional care throughout Georgia. The Nurse Educator Cardiac will work at one of their flagship locations, known for their cardiology, cardiac surgery, gastroenterology, neurosurgery, oncology, orthopedics, emergency medicine and women services programs.
The Nurse Educator Cardiac will be a hands-on leader and mentor who is comfortable working in a Cardiovascular unit. The Nurse Educator Cardiac is a mentor, liaison, and resource for the department staff, physicians, specialists, patients, and family members. The Nurse Educator Cardiac will work closely with the CNS and Unit directors to develop competency checklists, update policy procedures, and implement educational programs offered to current employees, new staff, students, preceptors. The Nurse Educator Cardiac will also ensure policy procedures, compliance and safety standards are adhered to throughout the department. The Nurse Educator Cardiac must have recent clinical experience in order to step in or demonstrate at the bedside level as needed, however, the Nurse Educator Cardiac will not be responsible for taking their own patient caseloads.
The Nurse Educator Cardiac must be a master’s prepared registered nurse with recent clinical experience working in a Cardiovascular Telemetry, Telemetry, CVICU or CCU unit. Ideally this individual should also have previous preceptor experience
