Job Description:
Join the dynamic team as a Nurse Educator in the Emergency Department at our client's prestigious hospital in Torrance, CA. In this role, you'll be instrumental in driving clinical excellence and elevating emergency care education. This full-time role operates on an 8-hour shift schedule with variable timings.
In this position, you will:
- Champion evidence-based practices and mentor new nurses, preparing them for roles in critical care areas, such as the Emergency Department (ED), Angio Recovery, and the Cath Lab.
- Provide education and training that supports key initiatives, including the Comprehensive Stroke Center, STEMI Receiving Center, Metabolic and Bariatric Accredited Program, Joint Commission Certified Palliative Care Program, and Level III NICU.
- Serve as an expert consultant in emergency nursing, offering mentorship, clinical expertise, and training to enhance the skills of ED caregivers.
- Spearhead professional development programs, with a focus on training caregivers in the management of emergency scenarios, including trauma, strokes, heart attacks, pediatric emergencies, and obstetric crises.
- Leverage performance improvement and research methodologies to continuously elevate patient care standards.
- Collaborate with divisional and system-wide education peers to implement standardized training programs that ensure efficient and effective care delivery.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Specialized knowledge in emergency nursing care and advanced clinical skills
- Experience in adult education principles and performance improvement methodologies
- Active California Registered Nurse License
- Current BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
- 3 years of experience in acute hospital settings within a clinical specialty
- 1 year of experience in adult or patient education
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or active enrollment in a relevant program
- Nursing specialty certification (to be obtained within two years of hire)
