About the Job
Jim Taliaferro Community Mental Health Center is looking for a motivated and leadership focused Nurse Manager to join our facility! This position will work alongside a highly competent multi-disciplinary team of specialists who care for those in most need! The therapy concept focuses on trauma, co-occurring disorders, the individual, and rehabilitation. The position is responsible for providing supervision and direction to a team of nurses and direct care staff who provide care to our consumers during crisis situations. This comprises nurse assessments, planning, interventions, evaluations, health-related education, case management, and the implementation of the medical regime, including the administration of medications and treatments given by any person allowed to prescribe by state law. This position will also be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to all staff within the department to ensure quality care is being provided. Responsibilities include scheduling, supervising the nursing staff, and providing overall support to the department as a whole.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a registered nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing, or Registered Nurse License recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC); AND
Three years of professional nursing experience, one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; OR
A bachelor’s degree in nursing and two years of professional nursing experience, one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; OR
A master’s degree and one year of professional nursing experience in a supervisory capacity.
Special Requirements:
Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 50 pounds and able to push and pull a maximum force of 25 pounds.
Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license.
