Salary: $145,000 - $165,000 per year

Job Details
o Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, ensuring high standards of care and compliance with hospital policies.
o Oversee day-to-day operations of the Medical/Surgical unit, ensuring efficient patient flow and resource utilization.
o Develop and implement unit-specific policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
o Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professional growth, and staff satisfaction.
o Monitor patient care delivery to ensure adherence to best practices and evidence-based care.
o Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and optimize outcomes.
o Address clinical issues and concerns promptly, providing guidance and support to nursing staff.
o Ensure accurate documentation of patient care and compliance with regulatory standards.
o Recruit, hire, and retain qualified nursing staff, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and skill mix.
o Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and professional development opportunities for staff.
o Organize and participate in staff education programs to maintain clinical competencies and promote continuous learning.
o Mentor and support staff in their professional development and career progression.
o Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, including Joint Commission requirements.
o Monitor and evaluate quality indicators, implementing corrective actions as needed to improve patient care and safety.
o Lead unit-based quality improvement projects, focusing on enhancing patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
o Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
o Develop and manage the unit’s budget, monitoring expenditures and ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
o Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement without compromising patient care quality.
o Collaborate with hospital administration to align unit operations with organizational goals and financial objectives.
Qualifications:
o Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or related field preferred.
o Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role in a Medical/Surgical unit.
o Proven experience in managing staff, budgets, and quality improvement initiatives.
o Current RN license in the state of Massachusetts.
o BLS certification required.
o Certification in Nursing Administration (e.g., CNML, NE-BC) preferred.
o Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to manage complex clinical situations and make sound decisions under pressure.
o Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and other healthcare technology.
o Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
