About the Job
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to lead our Acute Medical/Surgical and Emergency Departments. This role is perfect for a skilled RN with a background in nursing management and a passion for providing top-quality patient care.
As the Nurse Manager of Acute Care and Emergency Departments, you will oversee nursing personnel, manage department resources, and ensure high standards of patient care. This role includes responsibilities in staff recruitment, training, performance management, and quality assurance. You’ll work closely with medical teams to deliver efficient, compassionate care and will serve as a key leader in maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations for nursing staff.
Maintain fiscal responsibility by managing department budgets and resources.
Oversee supply and equipment procurement.
Ensure adherence to established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Ensure compliance with nursing protocols and patient care standards.
Conduct audits and implement quality improvement measures.
Develop clinical programs and support care pathways.
Facilitate communication processes for patient admissions and care transitions.
Oversee timely and accurate patient documentation.
Encourage staff development and foster a positive work environment.
Assist in departmental goal-setting and regulatory compliance.
Update and enforce policies, procedures, and job descriptions as needed.
Communicate essential directives to nursing teams and leadership.
Implement safety and risk management programs.
Support clinical compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Prepare Quality Management reports and assist in survey processes.
Aid in onboarding and clinical education programs for staff.
Requirements and Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Associate Degree in Nursing (BSN or MSN preferred)
Minimum 2 years of experience in emergency nursing and 2 years in acute or critical care settings.
At least 1 year of nursing administration or supervisory experience within the last 5 years.
Licensure and Certifications:
Active California State RN License
BLS Healthcare Provider certification
ACLS and PALS certifications
TNCC or CEN certification within six months of hire
MICN certification within one year of hire
