Nurse Practitioner II - H - Abacus

This position performs patient care as a Nurse Practitioner for clinical services within the Chesapeake Health District including the Sexually Transmitted Infection, School Entrance Physicals, Gynecological, Adult Health Services, Immunization, and Every Women's Life clinics.

Performs history and physical examinations, orders and reviews results of diagnostic testing, prescribes medications, directly performs or direct others to perform nursing assessments, may perform lab tests, takes measurements, and develops and implements care plans including the administration of medication and case management

Duties:

• Provides Direct Patient Care and Evaluation

• Quality Assurance/Nursing Practice Standards

• Community Based Activities

Requirements:

BSN

Computer proficiency with Excel, Word, and Publisher

Current license to practice as a Certified Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Virginia with prescriptive authority.

Current active RN licensure in Virginia.

Required to maintaining a valid driver’s license.

Preferred:

Previous Public Health experience and/or Adult Health preferred.

Master's in Nursing.

CPR certification current or ability to complete within 3 months.

Special Requirement(s)

Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.
