About Shriners Children's Medford Clinic
- Shriners Children's Medford Clinic is an extension of Shriners Children's Portland, conveniently located for families in Southern Oregon
- Surgeries take place at Shriners Children's Portland. Pre-surgery visits are arranged through telehealth or in Portland. Post-surgery visits continue at the Medford clinic. Both new and current patients are seen in Medford
- Specialties/conditions treated: Pediatric orthopedics (Intoeing, knocked knees, fractures, clubfoot, cerebral palsy, scoliosis, osteogenesis imperfecta, hip dysplasia, muscular dystrophy, neurofibromatosis)
- Clinic Hours: Fridays 12:00pm to 5:00pm, Saturdays 8:15pm to 5:00pm. No call.
- EMR: Epic
- Patient Volume: 24 patients on Saturdays
Shriners Children's Portland is seeking a part-time Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join Shriner's Children's Medford Clinic. This provider will assist in the management of pediatric patients with a wide range orthopedic conditions in an outpatient setting.
Responsibilities:- Provide direct care to patients in an outpatient setting
- Perform initial history and physical and formulate a treatment plan
- Coordinate care with Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeons for surgical candidates
- Provide post-operative follow up
- Prescribe medications pursuant to OR laws and regulations
- Master of Science in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice from an accredited NP program required
- Current PNP or FNP board certification required
- Current Nurse Practitioner OR license required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- PALS certification required within 6 months of employment
- Experience managing pediatric patients in the outpatient setting
- Proficient computer skills with experience in Epic preferred.
- Teaching and training skills, and demonstrated ability to provide age-appropriate direct patient care is required
