Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Pediatric General Surgery (Riley Children's Hospital) - Indiana University Health

Position Details:

• Full-time, Night Shift 
• 3x13s 
  • Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
• 100% Inpatient
• No Call
• Patient population: Pediatric general surgery and trauma, Newborn - age 18
• Currently: 10 physicians and 12 advanced providers in the practice

Responsibilities: 

• Work in collaboration with Pediatric General Surgeon and resident/fellow trainees to provide care to a variety of surgical, post operative, trauma population
• First line of communication for nursing as well as other service lines at night
• Response to consultation requests, floor concerns, post operative follow up, discharge / orders and clinical care as needed over night
• Inpatient & bedside procedures as necessary
• Inpatient rounding and cross coverage of Pediatric General Surgery and trauma patient population
• Trauma alert and Trauma one response
   

Qualifications:

• FNP, PNP or PA certification required
• 3-5 years of APP Experience working with pediatric patients required 
• Experience with pediatric general surgery and trauma populations preferred 
• Ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, have ability to work independently and collaboratively, very patient-centric with time and care of patients and place a high emphasis on productivity and efficiency
