Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant - Nephrology

MUST:
Experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Current and Valid Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant License in the State of Virginia
Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant by a recognized national certifying body
Nephrology Experience (preferred)

DUTIES:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with kidney conditions, including history taking, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic tests.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with nephrologists and other healthcare team members.
• Monitor and manage patients with chronic kidney disease, end-stage renal disease, and those undergoing dialysis.
• Prescribe medications, treatments, and therapies as appropriate.
• Educate patients and their families about kidney disease, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
• Perform and assist with procedures such as catheter placements and renal biopsies.
• Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals, including dietitians, social workers, and primary care providers.
