Aspire Indiana Health is a nonprofit provider of comprehensive “whole health” services including primary medical care, behavioral health, recovery services and programs addressing the social determinants of health such as housing and employment. Aspire has health centers in five Central Indiana counties serving Hoosiers of all ages and walks of life.
Position Summary
This individual will serve as the primary, full time medical provider on MACY, Aspire's mobile medical van, collaborating with a team that includes medical assistants, community health workers, behavioral health consultants and staff, and the mobile crisis team. This Provider provides non-emergent acute and chronic care to children, adolescents, adults and elderly clients in a mobile medical van setting. Also, family planning and perinatal services, STI evaluation and treatment, harm reduction services, and linkages to Aspire's primary care, community mental health services, and other community-based primary and mental health services as needed. MACY operates five shifts per week. MACY shifts will include one Saturday per month and a weekly Wednesday evening shift (10 am - 7 pm).
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in Nursing or a Doctorate degree in Nursing from a college/university accredited by the US Department of Education required
- One (1) year supervised experience in primary care with Severely Mentally Ill (SMI) population preferred
License/Certification
- Must be recognized as a Registered Nurse (RN) with Prescriptive Authority by the State of Indiana
- Must have current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certificate and State of Indiana Controlled Substance Registration (CSR)
- Must have ANCC or other certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner
- Must have current BLS certification

- Meet all clinical obligations of the Center’s medical practice, including CLIA, HIPAA, Medical State and Federal regulations
- Ensure compliance with state licensure laws, state medication administration laws, etc.
- Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with clients and/or families
- Must be able to respond appropriately and effectively in crisis situations by using good judgment and following Aspire protocols
- Demonstrate the ability to provide patient-centered care utilizing clinical best practice guidelines
- Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting
- Master the Center’s EHR and other technologies supporting quality patient care and disease management as it relates to clinical documentation
- Must have the ability to empathize and be compassionate to patient needs
- Ability to properly code medical encounters
