Rivers Health is seeking a PRN Nurse Practitioner for our Rural Health Center. The position will perform the following duties. Provides general medical care and treatment to patients in assigned clinics, emergency room, or urgent care under a collaborative agreement with specified physician(s) as required, by performing the following units. JOB RELATIONSHIPS: Responsible to: Assigned Provider and/or Director of Provider Operations Nature of supervision received: Indirect Positions directly supervised: Assist in the evaluation of clinical personnel assigned ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below; and specific functions may change from time to time. * Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines. * Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and Assess patient’s clinical problems and health care needs. * Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient’s condition. * Discusses case with Provider and other health professionals to Prepare comprehensive patient care plan when appropriate. * Submits health care plan and goals of individual patients for Periodic review and evaluation by Provider. * Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy or related therapeutic procedures. * Refers patients to Provider for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment. * Demonstrates excellence in customer service skills. * Fosters an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration. * Participates in quality improvement activities including serving on performance improvement teams. * Performs other duties that may be assigned. * Complies with Corporate Policies, Departmental Policies and Procedures and Personnel Employee Handbook. EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university. Successfully completed a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner or specialty as defined. WORK EXPERIENCE: One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.
