The Medical Telemetry Unit at Mercy Hospital of Folsom serves a variety of patients. A majority of the admissions that come through the Emergency Department are sent to our 44 bed 35 room unit. Typical diagnoses that would be seen on our floor are CVA/TIA Chest Pain Rapid A fib CHF exacerbation Pneumonia Flu COPD exacerbation Sepsis Acute Kidney Injury Alcohol Withdrawal & Infectious Diseases (Cellulitis Bacteremia Wounds). We have a mixture of Med-Surg and Telemetry patients. We highly value approaching the patient care with strong teamwork within our unit and within our hospital. Additionally we pride ourselves on our continual efforts to make improvements to our work in order to produce the best patient outcomes. Responsibilities

Plans the overall nursing care and functions in a particular nursing unit during an assigned shift. Supervises nursing staff assigned to a particular shift. Assigns patients to available nursing staff taking into consideration the patient's condition and the employee's skill level. Anticipates staffing needs and moves proactively to respond to them. Oversees stocking of supplies and updating patient records to ensure that the nursing floor is ready for subsequent shifts.

• Assesses monitors and educates the nursing staff on patient care. Institutes emergency procedures as necessary.
• Anticipates staffing needs and moves proactively to respond to them.

Required

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (e.g. ADN).
• Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a registered nurse.
• Current CA RN licensure
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certificate
