MHealth Fairview is looking for an Nursing Station Tech (Nursing Assistant/Health Unit Coordinator) at Woodwind’s Hospital in Woodbury, MN. This position is .7 FTE (56 hours per two weeks) with 8 hour Day/Evening shifts Monday through Friday, various start times between the hours of 0515 am to 1100 am (Hours of operation 0515 am - 1930pm), no weekends, no on call.

About this position - SAU/PACU
We follow the best practice standards set forth by the Association of Operating Room Nurses & American Society of Perianesthesia Nurses
- 7 OR Surgery Department, 20-25 cases per day, Patient age:18+
- Patient Population: General Surgery, Orthopedics, Ortho Spine, Podiatry, OB/GYN, Plastics, ENT, and Ophthalmology
- Demonstrates commitment to the universal guiding principles of the patient care model in order to achieve the Woodwinds Nursing vision.
- Supports the Nursing Process to achieve outcome focused patient care. Supports holistic nursing theory based on Watson's theory of caring aligning with the practice standards of the American Holistic Nurses' Association and the
Woodwinds nursing patient care model (Professional Partnership Model) in order to achieve the Woodwinds Nursing vision. - Communicates accurately and effectively with patient/family and health care team members. Reinforces patient education as directed by clinical staff.
- Achieves customer service excellence by understanding the needs of all internal and external customers, patients, families, physicians and the interdependent team.
- Documents patient information in EHR and/or other electronic system in accordance with program standards, department policies/procedures.
- Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.
- Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.
- Will assist with performing EKG's and unit coordinator duties
- Performs other responsibilities as needed/assigned.
Required:
License/Certification/Registration
- Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting. (Appropriate roles may include, Nursing Assistant, PCA, Resident Assistant or Emergency Room Technician)
OR
- Current enrollment in an LPN, RN or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program
OR
- Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire. This requirement does not need to be maintained throughout employment and is not required if subsequently transferring into another Nursing Assistant or Nursing Station Tech or Nursing Station Attendant position (exception: MHealth Fairview West Bank Nursing Assistants)
- NOTE: Individuals who have completed a Nursing Assistant program and are scheduled to take the NA Registry exam will be granted 90 days post hire to become active on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry. (Exception: M Health Fairview West Bank Nursing Assistants must be on the Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire)
- Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required. Ontrack participants much be able to obtain Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification upon completion of the OnTrack program.
