Overview
M Health Fairview Health Services is seeking Nursing Assistant at UMMC-East Bank! This position is 1.0 FTE (8 0 hours per two weeks), 8 hour shifts on the DAY/EVENING/NIGHT shift with as needed weekends.
This position is 1.0 FTE (80 hours every two weeks), working all shifts no set schedule for Monday through Friday, majority of shifts being 11am to 730pm with occasional coverage on other shifts and weekends.

The starting base rate of pay for the position is $21.47 Candidates with experience may be brought in at a higher rate of pay.

Responsibilities Job Description
+ Facilitates OR room turnover. Performs cleanup of OR
+ Readies OR for next patient.
+ Procures equipment
+ Properly cares for equipment and takes action for preventive maintenance.
+ Transports specimens and blood products.
+ Transports dirty case carts to decontamination area.
+ Provides Patient Care: Assists in transfer/positioning of patients.
+ Assists with preparation of patients for surgery.
+ Transports patient.Maintains Inventory Control.
+ Orders and manages supplies as directed.
+ Restocks department with supplies.
+ Makes rounds to keep current inventory in stock.
+ Communicates supply issues to appropriate person.
+ Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served. Physical Demands: Standing, walking, lifting above shoulder 32 lbs, lifting waist level 45 lbs, lifting below knee 40 lbs, carry waist level, balance, pushing, hearing, repetitive actions, speaking, seeing/visual.Mental Demands: Frequent people contact, irregular work schedule, frequent interruptions, decision making skills, concentration, ability to work independently, multitasking, organizational skills, working with others and frequent deadlines.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required. Ontrack participants needs to acquire the certification upon completion of the OnTrack program.
And one of the following:
+ Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview sponsored Nursing Assistant program.
Or
+ Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting. (Appropriate roles may include, Nursing Assistant, PCA, Resident Assistant or Emergency Room Technician)
Or
+ Current enrollment in an LPN, RN or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program
Or
+ Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire. This requirement does not need to be maintained throughout employment and is not required if subsequently transferring into another Nursing Assistant or Nursing Station Tech
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Previous experience as a Health Unit Coordinator, Nursing Assistant, or other related experience
