About the Job
As a member of the health care team you are responsible for providing basic care to patients under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team or unit. Assists patients with activities of daily living and helps to promote a safe, comfortable environment that fosters the physiological and psychosocial well-being of the patient.
Responsibilities:Notifies R.N. and/or L.V.N. of relevant changes in the patient’s condition including, but not limited to changes in V.S., level of consciousness and/or pain, breathing pattern, drainage, amount of bleeding, mood, or increase and decrease in capabilities/limitations.
Qualifications:Graduate of any accredited Nursing Assistant program or demonstrated equivalency (experience as a corpsman, EMT, Foreign-licensed RN or MD), completion of 2nd semester of accredited Nursing Program, HHA with 1-2 years’ experience. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers from American Heart Association. Ability to perform basic arrhythmic computations (add, subtract, multiply divide). Strong ability to manage numerous tasks and people at the same time is frequently required to perform the essential functions of this job. Strong time-management skills are frequently utilized to prioritize tasks that present themselves throughout the course of the shift.
