What You'll Do::
The Nursing Lab Manager controls the delivery of standardized simulations policies on their assigned campus.
- Plans, designs, implements, and evaluates instructional lab sessions with high-fidelity simulators according to College simulation standards.
- Demonstrates and maintains familiarity with program and course objectives.
- Adheres to/enforces the policies and procedures of Arizona College of Nursing.
- Implements effective skills and best practices for facilitating and debriefing simulation experiences.
- Works with Nursing Lab Specialist to educate students on proper hazardous waste disposal procedures.
- Remains current with general educational and simulation curricular advances.
- Ensures that simulation experiences are appropriately documented and evaluated (scenarios, preparation, etc.).
- Assists in development of various metrics and assessment tools as needed.
- Institutes continuous quality improvement strategies for simulation program improvement, in alignment with College simulation strategies.
- Always communicates effectively and professionally, especially to disseminate information regarding clinical simulation activities, internally and externally.
- Serves on the national Simulation subcommittee of the BSN Curriculum Committee.
- Mentors faculty, clinicians, and staff in the design of the College simulation curriculum involving clinical simulation, and best practices in simulation pedagogy.
- Oversees the procurement and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Supports and assists in delivery of simulation experiences when necessary (e.g. Operation of simulation equipment, operation of AV equipment, embedded participant role-playing, prop placement, moulage, etc.).
- Assists AZC administration and community partners to establish simulation-based educational events based on current simulation standards and evidenced based practice.
- Prepares for accreditation by Society for Simulation in Healthcare.
- Develops and maintains effective supply acquisition process to assure maintenance of appropriate par levels of inventory for Sim, Skills and lab supplies.
- Develops effective procurement process to assure competitive supply costs.
- Monitors costs and Sim Lab purchases prepared by admin.
Supervisory Duties
- Nursing Lab Manager is responsible to hire and supervise the Nursing Lab Specialist.
- Manage direct reports including conducting 1:1s, Semesterly Check-Ins, Performance Management, and offering Training and Development.

What We Need From You::
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Masters’ degree in Nursing from an accredited college (doctorate preferred).
- Hold a current unencumbered state professional registered nurse license or enhance compact nurse licensure relevant to the state of teach location.
- Current Certification in Simulation Education or acquisition thereof within two years of hire.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience teaching in a registered nursing program at a college or university.
- Three (3) years’ experience in direct patient care preferred.
- Three (3) years’ experience in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.
- Pre-programming and programming of patient simulators, basic troubleshooting and maintenance of simulators preferred.
- Knowledge or experience with audio/visual equipment and control software.
- Outstanding organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office computer applications.
