Job Summary
- The Infection Prevention Nurse is responsible for the daily activities, including education and surveillance of the Infection Prevention and Control Program. The Infection Prevention and Control Program is outlined in the Infection Prevention Plan. The program is designed to protect the overall health of patients, families, visitors, staff (paid or volunteer) and physicians who visit or work in one of our CoxHealth locations.
Job Requirements
- Education
- Required: Associate Degree in Nursing
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related healthcare field
- Experience
- Required: 2 years’ experience as a RN
- Preferred: 2 years’ experience in Infection Prevention, epidemiology, or public health
- Skills
- Communication and Leadership
- Data abstraction and Electronic Medical Record Navigation
- Health care associated infection prevention
- Regulatory and quality improvement project management
- Instruction-Education
- Healthcare practices, patient care, infectious diseases, asepsis, microbiology, and public reporting practices.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Required: Registered Nurse active in the state of Missouri
- Preferred: Certification in Infection Control (CIC)
