As a Nutritional Services Assistant I, you will play a vital role in ensuring our patients, visitors, and staff enjoy nutritious meals that support their health and well-being. Under moderate supervision, you’ll engage in a variety of tasks within our kitchen, cafeteria, and patient care areas, making a meaningful impact every day.
Responsibilities:- Meal Preparation: Assist in the preparation of cold food items and operate grill and fryer stations, ensuring meals are not only nutritious but also delicious and appealing.
- Catering Support: Collaborate with the catering team to assist in executing special events and functions, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere.
- Patient Care: Skillfully assemble and transport patient trays and carts, ensuring timely delivery of meals tailored to dietary requirements and preferences.
- Stock Management: Proactively stock supplies and assist in receiving and storing inventory, maintaining an organized and efficient kitchen environment.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor and document food temperatures to uphold health standards and ensure food safety at all times.
- Customer Interaction: Operate the cash register with a friendly demeanor, providing excellent customer service to cafeteria patrons.
- Sanitation and Cleanliness: Take ownership of kitchen cleanliness by performing daily and weekly cleaning tasks, including working in the dish-room and managing waste removal.
- Team Collaboration: Work harmoniously with team members to support various kitchen tasks and foster a positive work environment.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Exceptional customer service skills with a genuine passion for helping others.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both in English and in additional languages, to enhance patient interactions.

Education:
Non- Essential:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- This role requires standing for prolonged periods, along with stretching, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling as part of daily tasks.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds intermittently.
- Some walking is required throughout the shift.
