NWDTP Instructor at Constellis

POSITION:

The NWDTP training instructor will provide training to new and incumbent Protective Security Officers according to the standards of DHS/FPS, while reporting to Contract Manager.

PAY TRANSPARENCY/ COMPENSATION:

$30.97 per hour

$4.47 Health & Welfare cash in lieu  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serve as the focal point for multiple contract training compliance requirements and be responsible for overall training quality and standards in accordance with each SOW
• Ability to plan training objective, schedule personnel while ensuring contract staffing and operational continuity, maintain training files and update curriculum
• Explain, demonstrate and ensure responsibility of equipment, maintain safety and organization of training environment
• Communicate and oversee compliance with company policy, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Provide training related to current and anticipated tactical, operational and strategic threats
• Assist in the development and/or revision of lesson plans relative to the National Weapons Detection Training Program (NWDTP)
• Other duties as may be assigned relative to the National Weapons Detection Training Program (NWDTP) and/or the Protected Security Officer operations efforts
• Other tasks as assigned by the contract manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Must pass a preemployment background check and drug screening
• Minimum of two (2) years of training experience in civilian community law enforcement, military, or commercial/industrial security force service
• Must have completed an approved and accredited Principles of Instruction course and Firearms Training through (e.g. NRA, a Police Academy, State POST Academy, FLETC or military training course) certifying them as an instructor
• Must possess appropriate certifications to perform First Aid, CPR, AED, Defensive Tactics, Handcuffing, Baton, OC Spray, Firearms and NWDTP Instructions
• Prior experience with government contracts is preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Exposure to inclement weather to include extreme heat and cold. Exposure to loud noises such as the discharging of a firearm. Business work hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required. Employees must be able to work any of the positions and time slots with no stipulations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

May be required to lift and carry awkward items. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.
