Execute and oversee scheduled events at The OC and serve as the Event Supervisor - this position will be the on-site point of contact during evening and weekend events at The OC. Responsible for the operational components for OC events, including room changeovers, event room rental setups and coordinating custodial, audio visual, technology, and facility services.

Responsible for the operational components for OC events, including room changeovers, event room rental setups and coordinating custodial, audio visual, technology, and facility services.
The Event Supervisor will coordinate with the rental client(s) day of event to provide an excellent experience and a stress-free event. This includes coordinating with staff, managing logistics, and addressing any concerns that may arise during the event.
Education / Certification
- Degree in event management, event planning, hospitality, business, or related field is preferred, but not required.
- Experience will be considered in lieu of education.
Special Knowledge / Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to multi-task and keep track of multiple operational logistics.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Excellent organizational skills that include strategic and operational planning, project management, and project completion.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop creative solutions.
- Must be detail-oriented.
- Possess effective decision-making and leadership skills; able to effectively develop staff.
- Must be able to work after traditional business hours on weekday evenings and on weekends - both daytime and evening.
- Typical hours of the position could be scheduled at any time between 5 pm - midnight on weekdays, 6 am - midnight on Saturdays, and 8 am - 6 pm on Sunday - not to exceed 19 hours per week.
- Each week’s schedule will be determined by the OC Events Coordinator and communicated to the OC Event Operations Supervisor in advance.
- Ability to be adaptable and make decisions on a limited timeline.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Experience
- Minimum of one years’ full time experience is required, preferably in student center operations, arena operations, theater/fine arts operations, hotel/restaurant or convention-style facility management is preferred.
- Previous experience overseeing part-time staff in a supervisory position is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the operational components of OC Events, including room changeovers, event room rental setups and coordinating custodial, audio visual, technology, and facility services. The Event Supervisor will coordinate with the rental client(s) to provide an excellent experience and a stress free event. This includes coordinating with staff, managing logistics, and addressing any concerns that may arise during the event.
- Implement and execute a comprehensive facility operations program.
- Implement all operational aspects of the 350,000 sq. ft. Keith Bell Opportunity Central, including arena, fine arts space, multipurpose classroom spaces, and all other spaces within the building.
- Maintain the organization of the building’s storage spaces to ensure ease of changeovers will be maximized.
- Prioritize timeliness of changeovers to ensure the facility is prepared for all scheduled events.
- Identifies areas of needed change and makes recommendations to the OC Special Events Coordinator to improve operations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Responsible for oversight and development of student staff members that are direct reports.
