Responsibilities:

Assess patients' abilities to safely and effectively perform occupational skills. Design and implement individualized treatment plans, including selecting appropriate modalities and activities. Provide direct occupational therapy to patients, utilizing various techniques and modalities to improve their functional abilities. Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and other therapists, to ensure coordinated and holistic care. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries. Educate patients and their families about the patient's deficits, treatment goals, and strategies for continued progress. Plan and assist with patient discharge from therapy services, providing information on adaptive equipment and support programs. Supervise and delegate care provided by Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and therapy technicians. Adhere to all safety and infection control guidelines. Fabricate, fit, and train patients on the use of splints, braces, and other adaptive devices. Maintain appropriate inventory for adaptive equipment. Plan, assist, and implement patient activity assessments.

Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program. Bachelor's degree required. Master's or Doctoral degree preferred. Licensure: State of Kentucky Occupational Therapist License. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (may obtain AHA BLS within 60 days of hire). Experience: One to two years of clinical experience required. Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based practice in rehabilitation. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care. Ability to quickly learn and navigate multiple complex software systems.
