The Occupational Therapist (OT) will be responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing individualized occupational therapy treatment programs for patients with a variety of physical, cognitive, and developmental impairments. The OT will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to help patients achieve their highest level of functional independence and improve their quality of life.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities, as well as their daily living skills, to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Design and implement occupational therapy interventions, including therapeutic exercises, activities of daily living (ADL) training, and the use of adaptive equipment to enhance patients' functional abilities.
- Educate patients and their families on occupational therapy processes, home exercise programs, and strategies to support ongoing rehabilitation and independence.
- Monitor and document patients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care plans for patients.
- Supervise and mentor Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs) and other support staff, ensuring adherence to treatment protocols and quality standards.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and continuing education opportunities to maintain current knowledge and skills in the field of occupational therapy.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of patient treatments, progress notes, and other relevant documentation in compliance with Vivo Healthcare policies and regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to all ethical and professional standards of practice as outlined by state and national regulatory bodies.
