Your Daily Tasks & Responsibilities as an Occupational Therapist:
In this role, you will work closely with Occupational Therapists and other professionals to make a remarkable impact on children's lives. Your responsibilities will include:
- Screening & Evaluation for Occupational Therapy.
- Administer and interpret standardized assessments that identify deficits related to ADLs, IADLs, motor skills, sensory processing, cognition, social interaction, attention, and adaptive equipment.
- Make progress with patients directly and indirectly through occupational therapy treatment with home education programs.
- Monitor and document patient progress, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides, Clinical Students, Interns, & Volunteers at a project level.
- Provide ongoing support to children and families, ensuring a positive and encouraging therapeutic experience.
- Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to support the whole child.
- Stay current on best practices and advancements in pediatric occupational therapy.

Qualifications: To succeed in this role as an Occupational Therapist, you should meet the following requirements...
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program according to AOTA & ACOTE standards.
- Registration obtained from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a. Occupational Therapist as required in the state of Kentucky.
- Ability to develop creative and engaging therapy activities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
Additional Skills: Highly Desirable
- Efficiency without giving up effectiveness with your time.
- Genuine passion for working with children and supporting their developmental needs.
- Previous experience working with school-aged children
- Knowledge of sensory integration techniques
- Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive equipment
- Understanding of behavior management strategies
- Experience with handwriting and fine motor skills development
- Ability to provide support and guidance to parents and caregivers
