Educational Requirements/Experience:

• Must possess, as a minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Must possess current, unencumbered license to practice as an Occupational Therapist from the Commonwealth.
• Must provide documentation of licensure/certification upon application for the position.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a group.
• Effectively communicate with others.
• LTC experience is a plus.

 Duties are varied and include:

• Review requests for occupational therapy and physicians’ orders
• Interview residents to evaluate daily living skills and capacities and determine the extent of abilities and limitations
• Select rehabilitative and therapeutic activities and exercise based on the medical and social history of resident
• Teach basic living skills to residents as necessary and instructed
• Maintain Resident confidence by monitoring confidential information processing.
• Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
•  Work cooperatively with the Nightingale team.
• Take the extra mile and interact with residents as needed.
