Job Summary:
This will be a full-time, direct placement position. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA). The OTA will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to help patients develop, recover, improve, and maintain the skills needed for daily living and working. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and a commitment to providing quality therapeutic services.
Responsibilities:
Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans developed by the occupational therapist.
Guide patients through therapeutic activities and exercises to improve their motor, sensory, and cognitive skills.
Observe and report patient progress, reactions, and response to treatment to the supervising occupational therapist.
Educate patients and their families on how to manage care and reinforce treatment plans.
Maintain accurate records of patient treatments, progress, and outcomes.
Ensure a safe, clean, and organized therapy environment.
Support patients in using adaptive equipment and assistive technology as directed.
Adhere to facility policies, OSHA regulations, and patient confidentiality guidelines.
Requirements:
Associate's Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
Valid Indiana state license as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred, though new graduates are welcome to apply.
CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to diverse patient needs.
Physical ability to assist patients in standing, sitting, and mobility exercises.
