GRADE: 16
SALARY: $62,424
LOCATION: THIRD MUNICIPAL DISTRICT, ROLLING MEADOWS, ILLINOIS
JOB SUMMARY AND DUTIES:
The Confidential Assistant acts as personal and confidential administrative support to the Presiding Judge of the Division or District and supervises support staff of the Presiding Judge’s Office. Duties include, but are not limited to:

JOB SUMMARY AND DUTIES:
The Confidential Assistant acts as personal and confidential administrative support to the Presiding Judge of the Division or District and supervises support staff of the Presiding Judge’s Office. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Type and edit correspondence, reports, legal and other documents;
- Draft correspondence, including email, independently or upon direction;
- Handle mail, answer telephone calls, screen office visitors, make appointments and maintain calendar for Presiding Judge;
- Perform CCT supervisor duties as required;
- Maintain office records and files;
- Maintain office supply inventory;
- Perform other office management and administrative functions as required, including acting as liaison with judges of the District or the Division and other departments within the Office of the Chief Judge;
- Assist with human resources, finance, and purchasing matters to ensure the needs of the District or Division are met;
- Perform such other duties as may be directed by the Presiding Judge

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma; Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred
- English/Spanish bilingual strongly preferred
- Administrative assistant or office management experience preferred
- High degree of skill in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, including excellent typing skills
- Attentiveness to detail.
- Sensitivity to issues of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Knowledge of court processes and legal terminology preferred
- Excellent organizational and oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet short deadlines.
- Ability to work as part of a team and maintain professional demeanor in all interactions with others in the workplace.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- On a continuous basis, sit at a desk for long periods of time in front of a computer screen
- Intermittently twist to reach equipment or supplies surrounding desk
- Perform simple grasping and fine manipulation
- Strength to lift files weighing up to 20 pounds
- Use telephone and computer keyboard on a daily basis
- Move easily to various locations within the courthouse
