SummaryInvestigatesinsuranceclaims;obtainsallnecessaryinformationto evaluateclaimsandexpeditesettlement
EssentialDutiesandResponsibilitiesincludethefollowing.Otherduties may be assigned.
- Investigateinsuranceclaimswithin limitsof authority;responsible for the accurate and efficient completionofall phasesofclaimsprocessingfrom inception to settlement.
- Obtain lossreports,policereports,appraisals, repairestimates, etc. viatelephone, or correspondence as required.
- Confirms coverage for newclaims and setreserveamounts; following up on necessaryinformation andrecordingdiaries for scheduledreview of files.
- Analyze all accumulated data, reports,photos,etc. and evaluateclaims;determinecoverage and extent of loss/liability; prepare correspondingclaimssummaries.
- Settleclaimswithinlimitsof authority; issuedrafts/checks for claimpayment.Uponsettlement,closeclaimfiles.
- Confer withOCRClaims Manager regardingcomplexclaimsorwhen potentialexposureexceedssettlementauthority.
- Periodicallyreviewall open claims files; obtainanynecessaryinformation and adjustingreserveamounts as needed.
- May assist with anycatastrophelosses as required.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University; and/or 2-4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
