Account Manager
The Account Manager will identify and close on business opportunities, while building relationships with customers to gain additional business within their assigned account list and geographical region.
The Account Manager responsibilities include:
- Developing and building strong customer relationships while adding value at a business level.
- Gaining thorough understanding of market penetration in account base; annual development of account plan to support activity.
- Identifying solution sales; including Engineering Solutions Group (ESG), Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and Rockwell Services.
- Collaborating with business units to execute and leverage market plans
- Maintaining and leveraging available Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) tools.
- Continually generating new and creative ideas to enhance our partnership with customers.
- Identifying process improvements to provide better customer service.
- Developing strong relationships with vendors; effectively leveraging vendor resources.
- Understanding vendors pricing strategies and processes.
- Participating in overall product training with key vendors and partners.
- Participating in personal growth plan activities.
- Supporting the quality, engineering, and sales initiatives set forth by the Region.
To be successful, the Account Manager will have/be:
- Bachelor’s degree required with 2 years of outside sales experience. In lieu of meeting the degree requirement, we will consider 5+ years of outside sales experience.
- Thorough knowledge of products and services offered by McNaughton McKay Electric Company.
- Proven sales and customer service skills; ability to determine customers’ needs.
- High level of initiative to identify and close opportunities.
- Excellent negotiating skills.
- Knowledge of distribution business systems and intermediate level of ability with Microsoft Office Products.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
