About the Position
The Lane County Clerk’s Division, located at 275 W. 10th Ave, in Eugene is currently seeking two Spanish speaking Office Assistants to join our Recording team. As an Office Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service while performing various administrative tasks. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities including high-volume customer service and transaction processing, issuing marriage licenses and domestic partnerships, recording property documents, processing property tax appeals, processing payments in various formats, preparing nightly deposits, and assisting with the conduct of elections.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Accurately handle payment transactions throughout the day.
• Record property documents accurately and efficiently.
• Issue marriage licenses and domestic partnerships.
• Process property tax appeal petitions with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ensure nightly closing procedures are completed, including nightly deposit preparation.
• Cross-train to support both Recording and Elections offices.
• Assist with the conduct of elections, including tasks such as processing ballots and assisting voters.
About the Division
The County Clerk will administer all federal, state, and local laws as they apply to conducting elections, processing voter registration, recording land documents, and issuing marriage licenses, while maintaining the highest degree of integrity and accuracy, and providing exceptional customer service.Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00am – 4:30pm, possible overtime and limited periods of time with restricted time off, during peak election season.

Training:
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
Experience:
Two years of responsible clerical and office assistance experience.
Testing Requirements
Successful hire will be contingent upon taking a bilingual test to demonstrate proficiency in both English & Spanish
DRIVER’S LICENSE
Must be in possession of a valid driver's license at time of application, and a valid Oregon Driver's license by time of appointment.
