About the Job
This position provides excellent customer service by courteously answering the phones, answering inquires and maintaining good rapport with all areas requesting/using department services. Perform department duties which include: scanning, scheduling, maintaining departmental records, among other clerical duties.
Responsibilities:(50%)* Performs all office procedures necessary to process patients for examination as required. This includes:
· Scanning and Transcribing of Orders into Epic
· Verification of Orders · Verification of appropriate Lab work and prep for exam
· Contacting patients by phone to confirm and or schedule appointments and provide instruction
· Burning patient studies to dvd for outside referral upon request
(25%)* Function as super-users for PACS system, performing daily maintenance of patient files
(25%)* Coordinate add-on exams and patient exam appointments between departments
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must use standard office and data processing equipment in the performance of daily duties; effectively communicate with patients, physicians, supervisor and co-workers; must understand policy and locate manuals for MSDS, Fire Safety and Disaster Plan.
Other duties in the department related to the job classification.
Participated in Continuous Quality Improvement as required by the Health System and the job description.

Required Education:Education: HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA
Other Information:EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS:
One (1) year computer related work experience or additional computer courses required.
Proficient in using personal computer and word processing systems required.
Mandatory Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training must also be completed annually.
Knowledge of medical terminology, medical office policies, practices and procedures as normally acquired through two years working in a medical office or similar setting preferred.
Experience in using CD burners, digitizers and knowledge of Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) preferred.
Maintains confidentiality with all patient information and data obtained.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief and death.
Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position.
Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.
Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s).
Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching.
Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow MyMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake.
Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.
Physical Demand Level: Sedentary. Must be able to occasionally (0-33% of the workday) lift or carry 0-10 lbs.
