In this role, under direction, maintains a smooth workflow within the unit. Ensure patients are registered courteously, confidentially, efficiently, accurately and professionally. Interviews patients or representatives for financial and demographic data, verify insurance and pre-authorizations, accurately inputting information into the Hospital’s Eagle computer system & Phoenix scheduling system.

This is a full-time 9:00AM - 5:00PM position including some Saturday/Sunday rotating coverage. This position is located at NYP/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.

Preferred Criteria:

• Medical Terminology certificate

Required Criteria:

• High School Diploma or Equivalency
• Must have at least one year of medical office experience Intermediate knowledge of Windows, WordPerfect
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Able to work independently and take initiative
• Must present self in a professional office manner
