Summary
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Office Manager/Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing administrative staff, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. You will play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting functions and ensuring financial integrity for the organization.
Duties/Responsibilities
Qualifications
- General Ledger Management: Record and categorize daily financial transactions in the accounting system (CMiC).
- Office Management: Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable staff to ensure timely and accurate records. Maintain an organized and reliable office staff to facilitate orderly financial record keeping.
- Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions to ensure consistency between accounts and financial records.
- Payroll Processing: Assist with Payroll preparation procedures.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets. Assist with management financial reports to direct operational decision making. Participate and contribute to annual budgeting process as well as monthly forecasting.
- Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and filing of sales tax, payroll tax, and other regulatory filings.
- Financial Audits: Support the external auditor during the annual audit process and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and company policies.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (CMiC experience is preferred but not required) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Knowledge of Accounting Principles: Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices. Strong familiarity with journal entries and the general ledger entries.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all accounting tasks.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Management Skills: Ability and knowledge that help guide team members to achieve organizational goals.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to maintain good relationships and team culture
- Time Management: Ability to work independently and manage time to improve productivity
- Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and integrity.
Education and Experience
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably in a similar industry.
- 1-2+ years of supervision experience
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting for long periods of time at a desk
- Write, type, and use the computer, telephone, copier and other office equipment systems.
