Overview
Dignity Health Mercy San Juan Medical Center is a 370-bed not-for-profit Level 2 Trauma Center located in Carmichael California serving the areas of north Sacramento County and south Placer County for more than 50 years. It is one of the area’s largest and most comprehensive medical centers. Dedicated to the community’s well-being our staff and volunteers provide excellence in care for our patients each year. Mercy San Juan Medical Center has received recognition for being a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery along with Certificates of Excellence in Perinatal Care Hip- and Knee- Replacement.
Responsibilities
We are a 12 bed PACU of a level 2 trauma facility. The PACU department recovers patients from our inpatient and outpatient services ranging from general surgery bariatric orthopedics and pediatric services. We recover and discharge patients to include educating families and patients. Our unit is a fast paced environment designed to support up to 10 working OR's 24 hours a day.
Job Summary:
The incumbent is defined as a professional who provides and supervises care to individuals and families. The PACU registered nurse provides patient and family care based on the nursing process and consistently provides a safe and confidential environment post surgical intervention. As a professional the PACU registered nurse is responsible for providing leadership and maintaining personal professional development.
Qualifications
Minimum:
+ At least 1 year experience as a PACU Registered Nurse in a post anesthesia care unit or in an ICU/ED setting
+ Current California RN License
+ Current BLS, ACLS and PALS from the American Heart Association
+ Other certifications may be required
+ Weekends and Call required
+ Must work at least one (1) shift per four week pay period to maintain competencies
+ Must sign up for at least three (3) standby assignments per week
Preferred:
+ Skills related to laboratory and x-ray order entry and online documentation preferred
Pay Range
$82.89 - $82.89 /hour
