Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented Help Desk Technician to join our team in El Paso, TX. As a Help Desk Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to our internal users. Your role will involve troubleshooting and resolving problems related to hardware, software, and network issues. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong technical background, and a customer-centric approach.
Minimum Clearance:
- Active DOD Top Secret Clearance beneficial
Education/Certification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4+ years of related experience, additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
- Active CompTIA Security + certification, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST), or similar are a preferred.
Work Experience & Skill Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Help Desk Technician or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking systems.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and remote support tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Strong customer service skills and a passion for helping others.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Respond to user inquiries, diagnose technical issues, and provide timely solutions or escalate when necessary.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software systems, including operating systems and applications.
- Ensure all software, hardware, and network systems are up to date and properly maintained.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex technical issues.
- Document technical procedures, guidelines, and knowledge base articles to improve support efficiency.
- Provide excellent customer service, focusing on effective communication and problem resolution.
- Manage user accounts and security settings, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Assist with system upgrades and migrations.
- Keep up to date with new technologies and industry trends, and recommend improvements to enhance the overall user experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
